Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Archaeology, University of Reading will be holding a 2-day Workshop on archaeological evidence for Roman Diaspora on Friday 19 and Saturday 20th September, 2008.  This Workshop aims to bring together scholars working on themes of Roman identities, migration, health and diaspora to share ideas and further debate on the evidence (isotopic, osteological, burial and documentary) for such communities in Roman Britain.

Speakers will include Roman scholars such as Jane Webster (University of Leicester) and John Pearce (King's College London) amongst others, and archaeological scientists and osteolgists working on Romano-British sites including Lankhills, Trentholme Drive, Poundbury Camp, Gloucester and Catterick.

I have attached a poster of the event, and further information and booking forms can be downloaded from:

 http://www.rdg.ac.uk/archaeology/about/news/arch-events-Diaspora-workshop.asp

Please note that places are limited.

Best wishes

Mary
