of Leicester School of Archaeology & Ancient History is delighted to offer
an open Graduate Teaching Assistantship offering full funding over four years
PhD study with stipend for home or EU candidates, with associated teaching
duties in Ancient History. The successful candidate will be expected to teach
first-year small-group seminar classes in introductory Greek and Roman history.
The ability to teach very basic Greek or Latin language in source-based
introductory classes would be an advantage. We are
seeking a highly qualified graduate to join our vibrant research community.
Very highly rated for its research in many areas in the last Research Assessment
Exercise (RAE), the School has particular strengths in landscape archaeology,
Historical Archaeology, and the archaeology and history of the Classical world. For
students starting in October 2009, this award is open to applicants seeking to
study any research topic in Ancient History, or one spanning both Archaeology
and Ancient History, within the supervision expertise of the School's extensive
academic staff. Applicants should normally have a good Bachelors and Masters
degree in a relevant discipline. Further
