ORGANOLOGICAL CONGRESS IN PORTUGAL

Call for Papers
Submissions are requested for the Organological Congress 2012 in Portugal, organised by the National Association for Musical Instruments (ANIMUSIC), together with the Unidade de Investigação em Música e Musicologia (UnIMeM) of the University of Evora, with the support from the University of Aveiro, where it takes place.
The main aim of the Organological Congress is to bring together researchers, professionals and students with an interest in the various fields embraced by Organology, and to foment interchange of knowledge and experience. We welcome the submission of abstracts (200-300 words), preferably in English, being also possible in Portuguese, French and Spanish, provided the projection (PowerPoint) is in English. We appreciate proposals that are original, technically excellent, and with a synthetic and critical posture.
We accept lecture or lecture-recital proposals (15 minutes +5 minutes for questions and handover), recital proposals (30 minutes) or posters in all topics related to Organology, including acoustic, construction or study of instruments, museology (collections, exhibition, conservation, etc.), iconography or performance. The title and abstract shall be sent to animusic.portugal@gmail.com till the 17th of December of 2011. The results shall be communicated individually after being peer-reviewed, not later than the 22nd of December. Registration will be open in the beginning of 2012. All research presented at the Organological Congress may be submitted for peer review for publication in the conference proceedings (paper, CD-ROM and online).
