"Seneca - De beneficiis" è un blog dove verrà postata, paragrafo dopo paragrafo, la traduzione italiana del I libro del De beneficiis di Seneca.

 

A postarla saranno i loro autori, ovvero gli alunni della classe VR del Liceo Scientifico "S. Cannizzaro" di Palermo (a. s. 2013-14), che hanno scelto di affrontare con coraggio e con generosità, nell'anno del loro esame di stato, questa avventura didattica che io, il loro docente di latino, ho proposto.

Per il loro coraggio e la loro generosità li voglio ringraziare tutti, citandoli per nome: Roberto De Fortis, Emanuele Filingeri, Gianmarco Geraci, Alessandro Li Vigni, Giulio Lo Re, Andrea Messina, Alice Orlando, Roberta Pacino, Emilio Pinto, Giuseppe Pipitone, Francesco Pirillo, Federica Restivo, Riccardo Tarantino, Ornella Urzì, Gloria Varrica. 

 

La traduzione sarà il frutto del loro lavoro collettivo, ed è stata concepita come un dono che la classe ha scelto di fare alla comunità, dal momento che non esistono, in rete, edizioni digitali in italiano di questo trattato di Seneca.

 La revista digital Methodos va ser fundada i dirigida en la seva primera època per Pedro Luis Cano. En la seva segona època, que s'inicia el 2011, Methodos. Revista de didàctica dels estudis clàssics és una publicació anual editada per Paideia. Grup de Didàctica de les Llengües i la Cultura Clàssiques de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, que integra professors del Departament de Ciències de l'Antiguitat i l'Edat Mitjana i de l'Equip de Formació i Innovació de Llengües i Cultura Clàssiques. Methodos publica articles sobre didàctica de les llengües i la cultura clàssiques en qualsevol nivell educatiu. La seva vocació és esdevenir un espai de trobada entre l'ensenyament secundari i l'universitari, entre l'estudi del llatí i del grec, entre la didàctica de la llengua i de la cultura clàssica.

Ancient Ports – Ports Antiques

A catalogue of Ancient Ports and Harbours

This web site presents work done to collect, identify and locate ancient harbours and ports. It is based on a study of existing documentation. The result is a list of around 3000 ancient ports based on the writings of 66 ancient authors and a few modern authors, incl. the Barrington Atlas.
A few « potential ancient ports » from a nautical point of view, have been added, based on nautical guides/pilots used by modern sailors.
If you are looking for the location of a specific port, use the search engine (top right of this page) that will lead you to the page where this port is mentioned.
If you are uncertain about the spelling, you may enter just the part of the name you are certain of into the search engine.
This work is published in 4 volumes, all available in pdf versions, and most of it is reproduced on this web site:
Volume I gives the list of ports and a bibliography of ancient and modern authors.
Volume II gives the French translations of the texts of the listed ancient authors.

Volume III provides some notes on ancient ships, on ancient measures and astronomy, on Claudius Ptolemy, on ancient structures and on the layout of the Portus of Rome.
Volume IV gives twenty stories about ancient mariners.

You will have to excuse my limited knowledge of the English language.
