Concerning the event FestyJovem
Coimbra'12, the Youth Division of the Town
Hall of Coimbra
issued a challenge to the students, through the ASE-UC/ESN Coimbra
Association, of photographing the City of Coimbra through their point of view. Thus
arose the photography exhibition Um olhar estrangeiro sobre a cidade de Coimbra (A look abroad over Coimbra´s City), on
display last April at Praça 8 de Maio (8 de Maio Square) during the FestyJovem Coimbra'12 event.
With the success of the photographs next to the residents,
visitors and foreigners, who had the opportunity to appreciate them
informally in a single day in a public square, the Youth Division, with the
collaboration of the Water Museum, the ASE-UC/ESN Coimbra Association and the
School Art of Coimbra intended to dignify the excellent testimony of the
students who passed Coimbra through the realisation of a photographic
exhibition, comprising 80 photographs.
This initiative is a
host strategy of the municipality, guided to the consolidation of the
integration in the way of life, the traditions, the customs and the
experiences of the City of Coimbra,
and also to encourage the innovative and creative potential of young
foreigners living in the city, giving them the opportunity to express
themselves aesthetically through the photography.
The exhibition will be open to the public in the Water Museum (Dr. Manuel Braga Park) between
11st and 25th of September, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to
6pm.

A Divisão de Juventude da Câmara Municipal de
Coimbra, no âmbito da FestyJovem Coimbra’12, lançou aos estudantes
estrangeiros, através da Associação ASE-UC/ESN Coimbra, o desafio de
fotografarem a Cidade de Coimbra pela sua perspetiva. Assim surgiu a
exposição de fotografia Um olhar estrangeiro sobre a cidade de
Coimbra, exibida
em abril, na Praça 8 de Maio, durante a FestyJovem Coimbra’12.
Face ao sucesso alcançado junto dos munícipes,
visitantes e cidadãos estrangeiros,
que tiveram a oportunidade de apreciar os trabalhos realizados, ainda que num
único dia de exposição, a Divisão de Juventude, com a colaboração do Museu da
Água, da Associação ASE-UC/ESN Coimbra e da Escola de Artes de Coimbra,
pretende agora dignificar o excelente e gratificante testemunho dos alunos
estrangeiros que passaram por Coimbra, através da realização de uma mostra
fotográfica, composta de 80 fotografias.
Esta iniciativa regista-se numa estratégia de
acolhimento por parte do Município,
orientada para a consolidação da integração nas vivências, tradições,
costumes e experiências da Cidade de Coimbra, fomentando igualmente o
potencial inovador e criativo dos jovens estrangeiros residentes na Cidade,
conferindo-lhes a oportunidade de se manifestarem esteticamente através da
fotografia.
A exposição estará patente de 11 a 25 de setembro, de Terça a Domingo, entre as 10 e as 13h e as 14 e as
18h, no Museu da Água (Parque Dr. Manuel Braga).
