Description
The IFIP TC8/WG8.3 working conferences present the latest innovations and
achievements of academic communities on Decision Support Systems. These
advances include theory, systems, computer-aided methods, algorithms,
techniques and applications related to supporting decision making. The 2008
conference CDM2008 was devoted to the theme Collaborative Decision Making
(CDM), which is positioned at the intersection of several disciplines such as
information systems, operational research, management science, organizational
theory, and artificial intelligence. Papers presented at CDM2008 focused on
research in Decision Support Systems with special emphasis on supporting groups
and individuals requiring communication, negotiation, and agreement.

The International Journal of Decision Support System Technology (JDSST) is
primarily focused on Decision Making Support Systems (DMSS) technology and its
role in supporting the decision making process. The JDSST main objective is to
provide comprehensive coverage for DMSS technology issues. More information
about this journal can be found at www.igi-global.com/JDSST.

The aim of this Special Volume of the JDSST is to publish high-quality
extensions of the papers presented at the CDM2008 Conference.
This Special Volume is also open to other papers not presented at the
Conference that focus on the proposed theme. The Guest Editors will give
preference to papers leading to the dissemination of new results concerning
developments and applications with emphasis on practical aspects.
