Call for Papers Special Issue of the International Journal of Decision Support System Technology On Technologies for Collaborative Decision Making Guest-Editors Ana Respício & Pascale Zaraté Description The IFIP TC8/WG8.3 working conferences present the latest innovations and achievements of academic communities on Decision Support Systems. These advances include theory, systems, computer-aided methods, algorithms, techniques and applications related to supporting decision making. The 2008 conference CDM2008 was devoted to the theme Collaborative Decision Making (CDM), which is positioned at the intersection of several disciplines such as information systems, operational research, management science, organizational theory, and artificial intelligence. Papers presented at CDM2008 focused on research in Decision Support Systems with special emphasis on supporting groups and individuals requiring communication, negotiation, and agreement. The International Journal of Decision Support System Technology (JDSST) is primarily focused on Decision Making Support Systems (DMSS) technology and its role in supporting the decision making process. The JDSST main objective is to provide comprehensive coverage for DMSS technology issues. More information about this journal can be found at www.igi-global.com/JDSST. The aim of this Special Volume of the JDSST is to publish high-quality extensions of the papers presented at the CDM2008 Conference. This Special Volume is also open to other papers not presented at the Conference that focus on the proposed theme. The Guest Editors will give preference to papers leading to the dissemination of new results concerning developments and applications with emphasis on practical aspects.Topics of Interest Topics of Interest for this special issue on Technologies for Collaborative
Decision Making include, but are not limited to: - Computer systems and software applications for CDM - Technology developments for making face to complex CDM - CDM Support Systems: design, development, testing, and implementation - Web-based and mobile technologies for CDM - CDM data and model capture, storage, and retrieval - CDM Support Systems output presentation and capture - CDM Support Systems integration strategies and mechanisms - CDM Support Systems technology organization and management - CDM Support Systems technology evaluation - CDM Support Systems network strategies and mechanisms - Context awareness, modeling and management for CDM Support Systems - Other technology issues concerning CDM Submission and review process Only original and previously unpublished manuscripts will be considered. All manuscript submissions will be forwarded to 2 members of the Editorial Review Board for a double-blind, peer review. Final decision regarding acceptance/revision/rejection will be based on the reviews received from the reviewers.Submissions should be done electronically by email to Ana Respicio <respicio@di.fc.ul.pt>
