Call for Papers

The fourth international workshop on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge
Management and Decision Support will take place during November 6-8, 2013
in the city of Mazatlan, México. It is organized by the EUREKA network
www.eurekaiberoamerica.com<http://www.eurekaiberoamerica.com> , the
Mexican Society of Operations Research, and the Universidad de Occidente
with the participation of the network partners from 23 research groups
settled in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Germany, Spain,
Mexico, Portugal and Venezuela, and the associated partners of other
countries, under the lemma ‘Making trans disciplinary Science and
Technology for Business Intelligence, towards sustainable development’.

Three editions of this kind of workshop have been celebrated by Eureka to
promote and to contribute to develop trans-disciplinary knowledge, from
scientific fields, like Computational Intelligence, Operations Research,
Management Sciences and Business Informatics, useful for Knowledge
Discovery, Knowledge Management and Decision Support in collaboration with
local and international scientific and academic organizations.

The workshops were organized in 2008, 2009 and 2011, in Cartagena de
Indias, Colombia; Ciudad Panamá, Panamá; and Santander, Spain were
celebrated by Eureka. The first one in 2008 was organized inside the
Iberian Latin American Congress of Operation Research of that year.
Clusters of Sessions were organized by Eureka with the same objective,
into the Iberian Latin American Congresses of Buenos Aires and Rio de
Janeiro, during years 2010 and 2012 with the collaboration of IFORS and
SOBRAPO respectively.

The workshop includes the following types of sessions:
· Invited keynote lectures
· Invited tutorial sessions
· Selected technical talks assigned to single track plenary sessions

Papers related to theory and methodology, presenting contributions to the
methodology on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Management and Decision
Support and to its theoretical foundations, as well as papers describing
innovative applications on Knowledge Discovery, Knowledge Management and
Decision Support, presenting novel ways to solve real problems, are
suitable for submission to the workshop.

Topics include, but are not limited to:
Fuzzy Logic and Fuzzy Sets for knowledge discovery, knowledge management
and decision support
Rough Sets for knowledge discovery, knowledge management and decision
support,
Neural Networks and Meta-Heuristics used in knowledge discovery, knowledge
management and decision support
Theory and Models of Multicriteria Decision Making and Optimization for
knowledge discovery, knowledge management and decision support
Probabilistic, Statistics and Stochastic methods for knowledge discovery,
knowledge management and decision support.
Hybrid methods for knowledge discovery, knowledge management and decision
making and comparisons with other methods
Ontology Engineering
Business Intelligence
Business Informatics
Business Intelligence and Business Informatics for Sustainable Development

Authors are invited to submit original, full-length papers (maximum 15
pages) in PDF format. Eureka workshop 2013 submissions must be made
electronically via the Workshop Website. All accepted papers will be
published in a proceedings book edited by Atlantis Press
(http://www.atlantis-press.com )(*), and a group of selected papers will
be published in the International Journal of Computational Intelligence
