Dear Presidents and Representatives

 

As you are aware EURO support a number of conferences and education initiatives and we welcome bids from member societies to organise these.

 

The first EURO PhD School (EPS) will be held in Madrid in February 2014. This is our newest instrument and addresses PhD students in a school format.

There are 2 EURO Summer Institutes (ESWI) planned for 2014: 

 - Operational Research applied to Health in a Modern World. June 11–20, 2014, Bard, Italy
 - OR in Agriculture and Agrifood Industry. July 19 - August 1, 2014, Lleida, Spain

Three ESWI can be organised in any 2 years so it is still possible to approve another one for 2015.

ORP3 is a meeting of early stage OR researchers organised by early stage researchers. This format aims to give early stage researchers some additional undertanding and skills in all aspects of organising a conference. The last ORP3 was 2012 and bids are normally submitted 2 years in advance.

EURO also support Mini Conferences. We recently approved two to be held in 2014 and a further one in 2015. Typically we can support two per year so we can still consider one for 2015.

Finally the main EURO-k conferences are the largest undertaking and require planning in advance. The 2015 conference will be in Glasgow and we hope to present a bid for 2016 in the near future. Anyone who is interested in hosting one of these in the future is welcome to contact us for further advice or information.

We can accept bids at any time, and bids received by the end of the year will be reviewed by the EC at the next meeting in January 2014. Application forms are available from the Guidelines pages.
