Dear colleagues,

We are very pleased to announce and to invite you to submit relevant work to the 

special invited session “Robust optimization: advances and industrial applications”,

 included in the program of the 8th IFAC Conference on "Manufacturing Modelling, 

Management, and Control" - MIM 2016 - to be held in Troyes*, France, on June 28 

to 30, 2016. Authors who will make a submission in this session must do it as invited 

paper and indicate the following invited session code: e2125.

“Robust optimization: advances and industrial applications”

Real applications such as disaster relief, supply chain, network design, vehicle routing and transportation usually rely on parameters unknown in advance. Robust optimization is an interesting methodology to optimize problems subject to uncertain data since any hypothesis is done on the data distribution. Actually, the uncertain data can be modeled as an interval or even using a discrete set, defining scenarios that may occur. This special session is dedicated to real applications modeled and solved by means of robust optimization.
