PostDoc position in Cutting and Packing
Closing date: May 15, 2016
Place: INESC TEC, University of Porto
Salary: € 1450 per month
(as a reference, minimum wage in the country is € 530 per month)

The University of Porto (https://sigarra.up.pt/up/en/WEB_BASE.GERA_PAGINA?p_pagina=home) is on the North of Portugal. Founded in 1911 has currently around 35000 students in 14 faculties and 50 research centers and ranks among the best 150 European universities in some of the most important academic rankings. INESC TEC (http://www.inesctec.pt/ip-en?set_language=en&cl=en) hosts one of the top-world research teams on Cutting and Packing problems.

We are looking for talented research-oriented people who are interested in Cutting and Packing problems, and especially in irregular packing or nesting problems. A successful candidate should have a PhD dealing with the resolution of discrete optimization problems and preference will be given to candidates with experience (PhD theme and/or relevant scientific publications) in cutting and packing problems.

We expect the candidates to be fluent in English both in speaking and writing.
