I hope you already have in your diary the first ever workshop for OR practitioners across Europe, on 15th/16th February. The workshop will be held in Paris-Saclay, and will be free to attend, thanks to generous sponsorship from a number of companies (see flyer attached). It is being organised by the EURO Working Group on Practice of OR (EWG-POR). I attach an outline timetable. You will see that we have up to 10 slots for short talks from practitioners, to describe their experiences of demonstrating impact. We would like to hear about both successful and less successful examples (perhaps each talk could have one of each), and the lessons learned from these experiences.

If you would like to give such a presentation, would you please send an abstract of no more than 300 words,  to  Jean André (jean.andre@airliquide.com) and Matteo Pozzi   (matteo.pozzi@optit.net)   by 22nd January 2018.   One of them will aim to get back to you by 28th January to let you know whether or not your abstract has ben selected. Priority will be given to EWG-POR members, and to people employed in industry, government or commercial consultancies.

I do hope you would be interested in this opportunity; and even if you do not wish to speak, that you will want to come to this groundbreaking event, meet other like-minded people, discover what is going on and share challenges and ideas.

This email is going to all EWG-POR members, signed up on the EWG-POR website; but the event is open to all who have experience of applying OR in practice, so do please spread the word to any practitioner colleagues or contacts.
