EURO 2018: Call for contributions to the invited session "Optimization
problems in major disasters"
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit your contributions to the special
session
"OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS IN MAJOR DISASTERS" that is part of the 29th European
Conference on Operational Research in the stream of "Humanitarian
Operations".
The EURO 2018 will be held in Valencia, Spanish on July 8-11, 2018
(http://euro2018valencia.com/ [1]). EURO 2018 is the largest and most
important
conference for Operational Research and Management Science (OR/MS) in Europe
with more than 40 years of history.
In this invited session, studies for major disasters like earthquakes,
floods,
fire, etc are welcome. We are looking for contributions that try to fill the
gaps between research and practice. We can mention the ones that (i) propose
advanced models and methods in a bottom-up approach (i.e. from the real
context
to a formalization in theoretical terms); (ii) reflect the situation on the
ground better; or (iii) make use of real or realistic data in the numerical
experiments.
