FACULTY POSITION IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
The Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez is hiring a faculty member in the field of industrial engineering, with specialization in operations management or industrial economics.
Faculty members at FES are expected to teach undergraduate, graduate and professional courses in Spanish and English, supervise theses, conduct high quality research in collaboration with industry and government, publish in specialized journals, and participate in outreach activities. Excellence and strong motivation in teaching are essential. Starting date for this position is no later than March 1st 2019. Salary and teaching load are competitive.
Candidates need not be fluent in Spanish at the moment of applying. They must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, an aptitude for teamwork, and a scholarly interest in high quality engineering education and research. Requirements include an engineering degree and a PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Applicants in late stage of doctoral studies are also welcome. Relevant industry experience and indexed publications are a plus.

Candidates should submit the following to FacultyPositions.FIC@uai.cl (e-mail subject: Job Position in Industrial Engineering) no later than September 30th 2018. The following information should be included in the email:
- Statement of purpose (in English) indicating your merits for the vacancy, and your plans in the areas of teaching and research. Be specific., giving examples of how you aim to transfer your knowledge and background to students, and detailing potential collaboration networks with other researchers you may have developed or intend to develop in the future.
- Curriculum vitae (in English; see Note A)
- If available, a copy of your most recent publications (preferably indexed by WOS).
- If available, a copy of student survey results from previous teaching experience.
- Name, position and contact information of two persons who will send recommendation letters.
- First date when the candidate can join the faculty.
- Willingness to join the campus of Santiago, the campus of Viña del Mar or both.
Candidates must also make sure the Faculty receives two letters of reference sent directly to FacultyPositions.FIC@uai.cl by the persons identified in previous point 5.
Once the complete set of application material has been received, the applicant will be contacted and informed whether her/his application has been found acceptable or not. If this initial screening is successful, the candidate may be asked to give a lecture about her/his current research topics and/or to hold interviews with the Dean and members of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences. Interviews may be done by electronic means, if necessary.

CV must be organized along the following lines:
- Personal background: name, address, contact telephone (with country and city codes), e-mail address, web page (if available), and nationality.
- Educational experience (university or institution, courses taught, years).
- Professional experience (company, tasks, years).
- Education: list of all degrees or professional titles obtained with granting institutions and dates, starting from your secondary education degree. In case you are on the course of obtaining a PhD, indicate the date you expect to obtain such degree.
- Research
a. List of WOS indexed journal publications
b. List of other publications such as: reports, books or book chapters, conferences attended, research projects where participated, patents, etc.
