Estimados Colegas e Amigos,

o Centro de Estudos Clássicos e Humanísticos da Universidade de Coimbra promove, em setembro de 2020,  um Congresso de Homenagem a Peter J. Rhodes, por ocasião do seu 80 aniversário.

 

Em nome dos membros da Comissão Organizadora (Delfim Leão e Rui Morais), divulgo a Call for Paperse transcrevo o texto de divulgação preparado pelos colegas para o efeito:

 

We are very pleased to announce the “call for papers” for the “Conference in honour of Peter J. Rhodes on the occasion of his 80th birthday”, to be held in Coimbra, 10-11 September 2020.

 

P.J. Rhodes was Professor of Ancient History (1983-2005) in Durham and since then has been Honorary and Emeritus Professor. He is the author of a monumental work, which has been and will continue to be a major reference to scholars around the world. His principal area of scholarly production is ancient Greek history, especially politics (both political institutions and political activity), and the sources for ancient history (literary and epigraphic).

We invite junior and established scholars to join this celebration, by submitting a proposal on a topic that interrelates in any way with P.J. Rhodes’s work:

- Athenian Democracy and Theatre
