‘Dear friends,
The moment has come to put an end to the project, and I would like to extend the invitation for you to participate. After three years researching archaeological heritage management and public archaeology in the Mediterranean, I had the honor to meet many of you and learn a lot about the challenges we face in our daily practice. Soon, I will be able to share all the results of the project, open access as always. Meanwhile, I would like to have a small celebration in the form of a free open event where you can all put your brick on this big wall.
The event will take place next April virtually, and we will try to make it accessible to all of you in one way or another. If you receive this call, and you are willing to participate in any of the activities, do not doubt we will do our best to find a way against technological issues. Although English will be the running language for the live events, we do not want language to be a barrier, so there will be an option to participate in your own language in the proceedings.
The general topic of the conference will be: “Archaeological practice and society in the Mediterranean” as broad as it sounds. Society (us, today, not past societies) will be the main concept and any action that explores the relation between society and archaeology in the Mediterranean will be welcome. But also approaches to archaeological heritage management and the archaeological profession in the Mediterranean, or general theoretical approaches to public archaeology from the Mediterranean.’
The deadline to receive proposals will be FEBRUARY 15, 2021.
