Dear colleagues,
The
MAIA COST Action (
https://maiacost.eu/), Working Group 2 "Digital Comparative
Collections and AI Training Data for Archaeology", invites you to
participate in a
short survey exploring the availability,
accessibility, documentation, licensing, and AI-readiness of digital
archaeological collections.The
survey aims to identify current practices and challenges related to
comparative collections and training data used in AI applications for
archaeology. The results will contribute to the development of
best-practice recommendations and future activities within MAIA.
We
particularly encourage participation from archaeologists, museum
professionals, heritage organisations, digital archivists, data
stewards, repository managers, and researchers working with digital
cultural heritage collections.
The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
We would be grateful if you could also share this survey with relevant colleagues and networks. The survey will remain open for responses until 31 October 2026.
Thank you for supporting MAIA and contributing to a better understanding of digital collections and AI in archaeology.
Kind regards,
MAIA Working Group 2Digital Comparative Collections and AI Training Data for Archaeology
