[Archport] Roman bronze horse’s head found in Germany
http://www.euronews.net/2009/09/02/roman-bronze-horse-s-head-found-in-germany/A life-sized bronze horse’s head has been found at the bottom of a well
in Germany which, archaeologists believe, could have come from a statue
of the Roman Emperor, Augustus.
The cast-bronze head, which
weighs 25 kilos, is one of the best preserved Roman bronzes in the
world and suggests the Romans had a much more established presence in
ancient Germany than previously thought.
