Dear colleagues,
The 16th conference of the UISPP (Union Internationale des Sciences
Préhistoriques et Protohistoriques) will be held from 4?10 September
2011 in Florianopolis/Brazil. You can find more and general information
about this conference via
http://www.goto-uispp2011.com/.
One of the conference sessions will be dealing with advanced surveying
methods for landscape archaeological purposes. The session 8: Landscape
Archaeology III: Archaeological prospecting will be organised by Astolfo
Araůjo (Brazil), Kristof Ostir (Slovenia) and Axel Posluschny (Germany)
under the scope of Comm. IV of the UISPP.
We plan to have an event where the presenters will show advanced surveying
techniques and will give an overview over the broad range of existing
methods like aerial archaeology, laser (LiDAR) scanning, geophysics,
satellite and aerial remote sensing, UAVs, ? We aim to discuss advantages
and problems of these various techniques, to compare different methods and
would also like to exchange ideas and experiences amongst all presenters and
the session audience, coming from different countries but facing the same
problems.
We would like to invite you and/or your colleagues to submit an abstract on
any of the topics related to advanced surveying methods for landscape
archaeological purposes.
The deadline for sending the abstract to the organisers (see email addresses
below) is 31 March 2011. The rules about the format of abstract will be
specified soon at the conference web pages (
xviuispp.webnode.com;
xviuispp.ning.com).
Best regards,
Astolfo Araůjo - Kristof Ostir - Axel Posluschny
