► The early European hominins had a primary access about animal and other human carcasses. ► Taxa with different weights may be subject to similar transport strategies. ► This feature suggests that animal weight was not the only factor influenced prey transportation. ► The TD6-2 hominin group transported large amounts of food to the cave. ► The food was shared with other group members.
