Postdoctoral Research Position in Optimization (Coimbra) The University of Coimbra, under an FCT Portuguese research grant (see http://www.mat.uc.pt/~lnv), accepts applications for an one-year postdoctoral position in Optimization. In particular, one welcomes applications in derivative-free or nonsmooth optimization, sparse optimization, and mixed integer nonlinear programming. The position obeys to the Portuguese scholarship system (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/index.phtml.en). The salary will be 17940 (tax free) and social security is covered. Applicants must have (or soon have) a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and a good command of English. The job tentatively starts in January 2011. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae (publication list included), a statement of research interests (one page maximum), and at least two letters of recommendation by e-mail to Professor Luis Nunes Vicente (lnv@mat.uc.pt) until November 12, 2010.
