[APDIO] CLAIO/SBPO 2012

CLAIO/SBPO 24-28 September 2012  Rio de Janeiro Brazil

 

We invite ALIO members and the worldwide Operational Research community to take part in the CLAIO/SBPO2012, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, next September. This joint conference consists of the XVI CLAIO, the biannual conference organized by ALIO, and the XLIV SBPO, the annual symposium organized by SOBRAPO. Both conferences, whose theme is Operational Research in the large sports events, are in honor of professors Nelson Maculan, Andrés Weintraub and Hugo Scolnik, important Operational Research researchers in Latin America. 

 

The CLAIO/SBPO will be held at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), located downtown Rio de Janeiro. The conference venue is situated in the heart of Rio’s financial district, a rich area also in cultural spaces such as the Candelária Church, built in the 18^th century, the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB), a 1906 neoclassical building, and the Post Office Cultural Center, built in the early 20^th century (1922).

The academic program will consist of parallel, technical and special sessions, plenary talks and tutorials covering several aspects of OR. This year, the official theme of the symposium will be Operations Research in major sports events.

Full papers (ST), tutorials (MC) and undergraduate reports (PIC) submission	April 30, 2012
Poster (PS) and thematic project competition (CPT)	June 30, 2012
Full papers (ST), tutorials (MC) and undergraduate reports (PIC) notification of acceptance	June 15, 2012
Poster (PS) notification of acceptance	July 20, 2012

Papers, posters and tutorials must be submitted using the JEMS framework.
