Scope and Objectives:
====================
The EURO Mini Conference XXVIII dedicated to Variable Neighborhood Search
(EUROmC-XVIII-VNS) will be held in Herceg Novi (Montenegro) October
4-7,2012. The EURO Mini Conferences (EUROmC) constitute one of the
instruments provided by EURO (the Association of European Operational
Research societies) to promote the research in its field of interest. Each
EUROmC is a specialized conference focusing on a particular promising OR
theme of research. These events are organized to allow specialists and
practitioners of the selected topic of research to effectively screen papers
participate in lively debates.
VNS is a metaheuristic based on systematic changes in the neighborhood
structure within a search, for solving optimization problems and related
tasks. The main goal of the EUROmC-XVIII-VNS is to provide a stimulating
environment in which researchers coming from various scientific fields can
share and discuss their knowledge, expertise and ideas related to the VNS
Metaheuristic and its applications.

Conference Proceedings:
=======================
All papers accepted for presentation will be published in the Proceedings
(that will have ISBN number), before the conference starts.
Conference Book of Abstracts:
=============================
All accepted papers will be published in Book of abstracts. Participants are
allowed to send just abstract of their presentation.
Publication in Special Issues:
==============================
Conference Chairs and Program Committee Chairs agreed publication of three
special issues, directly connected to papers presented at this conference:
- Journal of Global Optimization (JOGO), Springer Netherlands.
- IMA Journal of Management Mathematics (IMA-MAN), Oxford University Press.
- Yugoslav Journal of Operations Research (YUJOR).
In addition, two special issues devoted to Optimization using VNS are
arranged as well:
- Computers & Operations Research (COR), Elsevier Ltd.
- Journal of Applied Mathematics (JAM), Hindawi Publishing Corporation.
All papers will be refereed according to the standards of the respective
journal.

The conference will be held at the Plaza hotel in Herceg Novi, Montenegro.
Tivat (20km away) and Dubrovnik (25km away) are two international airports
Connecting Herceg Novi with worldwide cities by air traffic. From Dubrovnik
and Tivat airports, Herceg Novi is easily accessible by taxi cab and by
regular buses.

Early registration: before August 01, 2012 - fee 230 Euros, students 80
Euros.
Late registration: after August 01, 2012 - fee 270 Euros, students 100
Euros.
Deadline for submission of accepted papers for Proceedings: August 25, 2012.
Preliminary program schedule notice: September 04, 2012.
