2013 ANNUAL CONFERENCE
OF THE BANQUE POPULAIRE CHAIR IN MICROFINANCE 
OF THE BURGUNDY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
 
The 4th International Conference on Institutional and Technological Environment for Microfinance (ITEM 4)
Financial inclusion: Lessons between the South and the North

The ITEM4 conference will gather academics and practitioners working on financial inclusion in developed and developing countries. Participants will try to identify which lessons the North can learn from the South and the lessons the South can learn from the North. Debates will also be focused on financial inclusion as an economic instrument for social solidarity. Other microfinance related topics will be discussed in parallel and plenary sessions.
 
The conference will include papers in track for special issues of journal partners of ITEM 4 as well as other works in progress for publications in partner journals or others. At the conference presenters will be notified if their work is of interest for partner journals, indicated below.
 
Concurrent tracks will be held either in French or in English.
 
KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Dr. Jean-Michel Servet, Professor of development studies at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva.
 
SUBMISSION AND REVIEW OF PAPERS:
The submission deadline is extended to February 15th, 2013. Papers for the conference will be reviewed anonymously and authors will be notified of the decision as soon as possible. Papers must be sent to microfinancechair@escdijon.eu
