2016 SCALE Latin America Conference

Date and Time: Monday, March 21, 2016 (All day) to Tuesday, March 22, 2016 (All day)

Location: MIT Campus, Cambridge, USA.

Purpose: The purpose of 2016 SCALE Latin America Conference is to provide a forum for sharing emerging, applied and multi-disciplinary research on all aspects related to logistics and supply chain management relevant to Latin America and the Caribbean. We are soliciting abstracts for conference presentations as well as papers.

 

Invitation: Welcome to the 2016 MIT SCALE Latin America Conference to be hosted at the MIT Campus on March 21-22, 2016. Established in 2008, the conference is hosted annually at MIT or in different cities in Latin America.  Organized by the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics in collaboration with the Center for Latin-American Logistics Innovation, the goal of the conference is to provide a forum for sharing educational and applied research in logistics and supply chain management relevant to Latin America.

 

Call for Papers: NEW DEADLINE: Abstracts Due October 29, 2015. The 2016 SCALE Latin America Conference welcomes papers and presentations in the following thematic areas:

•Applied Operations Research

•Innovative Case Studies in Logistics & Supply Chain Management

•International Trade & Logistics, including port logistics

•Novel teaching and educational methods

•Sustainability

•Urban Logistics

In order to raise the visibility of logistics and supply chain management research and education in Latin America, authors submitting abstracts for the conference are encouraged to submit full-length papers (5000 - 8000 words). Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings.

 

Student Paper Competition: Latin America is currently facing large and complex challenges given the socioeconomic and political conditions, also found in many countries around the world. This paper contest seeks to inspire students propose solutions through a strong focus on logistics, supply chain and operations management in the region. Student papers needed to focus on one or more of the following issues:

•Innovative Case Studies in Logistics & Supply Chain Management

•International Trade & Logistics, including port logistics

•Sustainability

•Urban Logistics

 

All abstract and paper submissions should be submitted in English via EasyChair. Conference oral presentations are allowed in English, Spanish or Portuguese, but English is strongly encouraged.
