Sustainable Cities and Society

Special issue on Sustainable Cities

Following the International Conference “Energy for Sustainability
2015: Sustainable Cities - designing for people and the planet”, a
special issue of the Sustainable Cities and Society journal will be
prepared.

Sustainable Cities and Society is published by Elsevier and indexed in
Scopus.

All interested researchers are invited to contribute to this special
issue. The topics should relate to the themes of the Conference, namely:

− Smart cities - actual experiences and best practices, smart grids
and

demand response, distributed generation and energy storage,
transportation (transport modes, electric vehicles, biofuels, etc.),
human dimensions;

− Buildings and end-uses - buildings (architecture, materials,

construction processes, automation, sustainability, etc.), eco-design
and eco-labelling, end-use energy efficiency, energy management
(methodologies and systems);

− Policy and assessment - energy policy and planning, sustainability

assessment, life-cycle assessment, urban metabolism, industrial ecology,
markets and regulation; Cleaner energy supply - renewable energy,
co-generation.

Submissions of contributions not presented at the conference are also
welcome. If your contribution was actually presented at the conference,
the version submitted to the special issue should differ substantially
from the short papers published in the proceedings (e.g., including more
detailed theoretical formulations, additional model verifications or
proofs of the results, further experimental or numerical results and
data analysis).

All submitted manuscripts will be thoroughly refereed according to the
high standards of the Sustainable Cities and Society journal.

Authors should follow the Authors Guidelines and submit their high
quality manuscript via the journal's site at

SEPTEMBER 30TH , 2015.
