[APDIO] EURO2016 FOR PRACTITIONERS – MAKING AN IMPACT

In July 2016, up to 3000 OR professionals, from every part of the European OR community, will be gathering in the historic city of Poznan in Poland to take part in Europe’s premier OR conference, EURO2016.  And just as for the 2015 conference in Glasgow, special emphasis will be laid on the importance of practical O.R., with a strong ‘Making an Impact’ programme to provide plenty of value for practitioners.

‘Making an impact’ gives you the opportunity to grow your professional skills, build your local and international network of contacts, be inspired by others, and contribute to the success of European OR practice, through activities expected to include:

• ​practical case studies -  20 minute presentations of actual applications, showing not just the technical  aspects but the practical issues, and the outcomes and insights achieved for the client organisation
  
  

• ​an “academic-practitioner bazaar” to promote the exchange of information between both sides of the profession, and provide an opportunity to set up future collaborations
  
  

• ​a choice of 90-minute workshops on practical and technical issues aimed at helping practitioners improve their effectiveness
  
  

• ​mentoring, networking, and careers/recruitment activities.
