Please distribute.

The positions are in operations research within the CIRRELT
(www.cirrelt.ca [1]) and the department of Operations and Decision
Systems of the Faculty of Administration Sciences of Université Laval
(Quebec City, Canada). All projects are related to logistics
optimization and to distribution problems. Hence, a good understanding
of vehicle routing problems and its variants, and of optimization and
implementation skills is required. The positions are under the
supervision of professors Jean-François Côté and/or Jacques Renaud
and/or Leandro C. Coelho.

Full and partial funding is available and is commensurate with
qualifications for up to 4 years. All accepted candidates are eligible
to partial funding
(http://www4.fsa.ulaval.ca/futurs-etudiants/bourses-et-aide-financiere/
[2]) and the supervisors will offer extra scholarships for excellent
students. The position does not include any teaching obligations
(optional teaching would be paid separately).

The candidate should have (or expect to have shortly) an excellent
master degree in operations research, mathematics, computer science or a
closely related area. A successful candidate has profound knowledge in
(computational) mathematical optimization (in particular mixed integer
programming) in theory and practice. Solid implementation skills are a
must. The candidate will work on large-scale mathematical optimization
problems arising in logistics and transportation networks.
Collaborations with international partners is expected.

Université Laval is a French-speaking university, and most courses are
offered only in French.

Formal applications must be made through the university website
