The Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad de La Sabana – Colombia invites applications for two full-time faculty positions in the area of Industrial Engineering, with exclusive dedication.
Universidad de La Sabana is a young private Colombian university, founded in 1979, that has achieved a reputation for academic excellence as well as for innovation, research and internationalization. The University offers a wide range of possibilities for research, teaching and studying at its 100-hectares Campus located in Chía, near Bogotá, the capital of the country. This Campus includes Universidad de La Sabana, Teaching Hospital and INALDE Business School.
Faculty members are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish and/or English, supervise theses, conduct high quality research in collaboration with industry and government, publish in top international journals, and eventually participate in curriculum analysis and administrative activities. Position may start during 2016, according to availability.
Applicants should have the following profile:
• Hold a doctoral degree in industrial engineering, logistics, business administration or related field
• Have strong skills and motivation for carrying on research, demonstrated by a dynamic publication activity in international journals
• The applicants’ research field and experience must be related to one of the following research topics studied in our group “Logistic Systems”, ranked in category A1 of COLCIENCIAS (Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation) in Colombia: Global logistics, strategic logistics and public policies or transportation engineering.
• Have adequate teaching skills for courses in our doctoral program in logistics and supply chain management and our undergraduate program in industrial engineering.
• Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills (Candidates need not be fluent in Spanish at the moment of applying).
• Aptitude for teamwork
