Dear SCALE Latin-American colleagues,
We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 2018 MIT SCALE Latin America Conference to be hosted at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA on April 15-16th, 2018. Our keynote speakers will be Prof. Yossi Sheffi, Director of the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics and Dr. Edgar Blanco, Director of Network Planning & Design for Amazon Logistics.
This event, now in its second edition, aims at providing a forum for sharing high-impact educational and research in logistics and supply chain management relevant to Latin America. We invite you to be part of this conference by submitting your research as an extended abstract through Easychair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=2018scalelatam). The submission of your research will potentially help shape the research agenda for SCALE Latin America and build research collaboration networks in the region for the upcoming years.
Further details about the calls for extended abstracts for regular and student competition applications, registration, fees, committees and useful information to authors and speakers are available on the official Conference website (http://scale.mit.edu/events/2018-mit-scale-latin-america-conference).
The conference will be a unique occasion to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Center for Latin-American Logistics Innovation (CLI) and a great opportunity to join the Latin American research and practitioner communities together.
One important note: Please consider that Boston Marathon will be run the weekend of April 14th and 15th. This year event draws over 1 million spectators into the city. Make sure to book your hotel rooms, apartments and flights with enough time in advance, accommodation during these dates will be extremely limited. One option you can take into account is self-serve apartments available through websites such as booking.com or airbnb.com. Our MIT team will be looking to advise more accommodation alternatives, but it will be difficult to guarantee preferential rates with such an important event occurring in Boston. Thus, please make your reservations ASAP.
We would appreciate if you distribute this message among your colleagues, potential contributors, professional networks, we aim to make this conference as inclusive as possible and to give opportunity to the Latin American community to share with us their knowledge and upcoming challenges.
