Ciclo de minicursos em temas de Matemática "Para lá do Horizonte".

Esta mensagem dirige-se a todos os interessados em aprofundar os seus conhecimentos matemáticos em temas que, tradicionalmente, não são leccionados nas unidades curriculares disponíveis.

Atendendo a que a matemática desempenha hoje em dia um papel essencial em todo o desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico, conduzindo inclusivamente ao aparecimento de um novo paradigma para o emprego de futuro, os chamados “STEM JOBS” (STEM= Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), o Departamento de Matemática da FCUP criou um ciclo de minicursos em temas atuais de matemática, com o objetivo de permitir aos estudantes mais motivados uma aprendizagem mais aprofundada, num ambiente informal.

Na qualidade de diretor do DM/FCUP, exorto todos os interessados a participarem nestes cursos, com o objetivo de uma maior valorização científica e curricular.

Dear all

I address this message to all  interested people in deepening their mathematical knowledge in subjects that are not traditionally taught in the curricular units available.

Given that mathematics today plays an essential role in all scientific and technological development, including the emergence of a new paradigm for future employment, so-called "STEM JOBS" (STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics ), the Department of Mathematics at FCUP has created a cycle of minicourses in current math topics, with the aim of enabling more motivated students to learn more in an informal environment.

All the details about the mini courses are available on a dedicated website http://www.fc.up.pt/dmat/mm.

As director of the DM / FCUP, I urge all interested parties to participate in these courses, with the goal of greater scientific and curricular valorization.
