"Machine learning, big data and automation in Radiotherapy” is a two
days course aimed at addressing the growing interest of medical
physicists in understanding the basis, methods, approaches and concepts
of optimization, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep
learning and big data fundamentals and applications to radiotherapy.
The present and future challenges of radiation therapy imply clinical
process changes where technology, standardization and automation are
already guiding better solutions for the patients. Evidence-based
decision support extracted from retrospective and multi-level experience
will provide improved care.

It is a great opportunity for the operational research community to get
acquainted with the research that is done in this area, since OR tools
and methodologies are already essential in the planning of radiotherapy
treatments, and will be even more in the future.

The knowledge and vision of well-known international experts will help
the participants to better understand the present status of these
developments and the new horizons that are opened to radiotherapy.
