ABSTRACT SUBMISSION OPENS ON MARCH 31: 

 

We are pleased to announce that the website for the 5^th Edition of the International Conference on Health Care Systems Engineering in Lisbon, Portugal, on September 14 - 16, 2023, is now operational. Abstract submissions will start on March 31. 

 

The Health Care Systems Engineering conference is known to promote live discussions between academics and health practitioners: traditionally it takes place in a hospital, including a hospital tour, and each session is co-chaired by a health practitioner, providing a unique opportunity for scientists and health practitioners to discuss the use of management science and operations management techniques and methods to support decision-making in healthcare delivery systems. 

 

Attendees will be able to present and discuss new ideas, methods, and technologies for improving operations in healthcare organizations, for improving decision processes regarding health technology, interventions and policies' adoption, as well as for enhancing the use of data to support clinical decision-making.  

 

In this 2023 edition, the conference is organized as a partnership between the engineering and medical schools of the University of Lisbon and will take place within the environment of Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte (North Lisbon Hospital University Centre), the largest hospital centre in Portugal. Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal and one of the oldest in the world is a charming and immersive place, with a mix of old and new. Visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city and the Tagus River, also offering various travelling opportunities less than an hour away. We look forward to seeing you in September! 

 

HCSE 2023 will be an in-person conference, so all participants will need to be present in Lisbon, Portugal. A virtual option is not available.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME: 

 

The organising team is currently working on finalising the social program of the conference. As part of it, there will be a conference dinner and a Lisbon tour, included in the conference fee.

REMINDER CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS: 

 

Attendees who wish to present their work at HCSE 2023 must submit an extended abstract with up to two pages written in English, following the provided LaTeX or Word template. The submission must be done by the attendee who will present the work. All accepted abstracts will be published in the digital conference booklet. 

 

Each participant is only allowed to present one abstract at the conference, but it is allowed to have multiple submissions as non-presenter. 

Abstraction submission system and submission guidelines will be made available soon.

• Abstract submission deadline: April 28th, 2023 

• Notification of abstract acceptance: May 12th, 2023 

• Registration starts on May 15th, 2023 

• Early Registration Deadline: June 16th, 2023 

• Author Registration Deadline: July 30th, 2023
