The Health Care Systems Engineering conference is known to promote live discussions between academics and health practitioners: traditionally it takes place in a hospital, including a hospital tour, and each session is co-chaired by a health practitioner, providing a unique opportunity for scientists and health practitioners to discuss the use of management science and operations management techniques and methods to support decision-making in healthcare delivery systems. 

 

In this 2023 edition, the conference is organized as a partnership between the engineering and medical schools of the University of Lisbon and will take place within the environment of Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte (North Lisbon Hospital University Centre), the largest hospital centre in Portugal.
