Sinopse:

In the last 20 years, significant developments in isotopic chemistry and their use on archaeological remains have opened new possibilities of knowledge. It is now possible to identify zooarchaeological remains using peptides (ZooMS), to track mobility using oxygen and strontium isotopes (∂¹⁸O, ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr), or to infer animal diet using carbon and nitrogen isotopes (∂¹⁶C, ∂¹⁸N). Combining theory and case studies, this open lecture will present some of the methods most commonly used, their methodological bases and also their limits.
