BARELY LEGAL PORTRAITS

Pintura é Narrativa - Arte Poética.

Poética é imitação, já o sabemos - na lição de Aristóteles.

Esta arte não é menos rapace. Por ser Memória: aquela que ficciona, baralha o tempo e troca os retratos de lugar. Barely Legal talvez por isso. Found images artilhadas de pigmentos para espantar a insuportabilidade dos dias que nos sobram, contados entre nada e coisa nenhuma.

Alguém disse que um poeta é um striper às avessas: entra nu e sai tão couraçado que se não reconhece nas palavras que salvou. Como as nossas vozes nas gravações, ou na mimese de nós que é a memória. E a enganadora alegria das cores com que outros nos retrataram.

BARELY LEGAL PORTRAITS

Painting is Narrative - Ars Poetica.

Poetics is imitation, has we already know - on Aristotle's lesson.

This art is no less a thief. Because it is Memory: the one who fictions, shuffles time and changes the places of portraits. Barely Legal, maybe. Found images armed with pigment to ward off the unbearability of left over days, counted between nothing and a void.

Someone said that a poet is a reversed striper: he goes in naked and comes out so armoured that he does not recognize himself in the words that he saved. Like our voices in recordings, or the mimesis of us that is the memory. And the misleading joy of the colors with which others have portrayed us.
