Doctoral Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies – Angela Merkel
Yuste Foundation opens the deadline to apply for one of the 18 Carlos V European Award – ANGELA MERKEL - European Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies. Each grant is valued at €2,500.
The subject of this edition is “The fortune of being united: Securing and strengthening Europe’s cohesion”.
The beneficiaries must be enrolled in a doctoral programme and be in the phase of preparing their doctoral thesis in History, Political Science, Economics, Law, or other disciplines within the Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as other branches of science, on a topic related to the subject and focus outlined in the call. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in either English or Spanish, with a level of at least B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The deadline for submitting applications is 18 February 2025.

Each grant has an individual endowment of 2,500 euros in order to cover the study and research work related to the papers to be submitted as well as the necessary mobility of the applicant involved in the process. These papers must be presented in the framework of the Carlos V European Award Multidisciplinary Studies Doctoral Seminar on Contemporary Europe and that will take place at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste during 2025. The research work carried out under the call will be published in a joint work by Yuste Foundation.
