We have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the:
GILT-EnArt2015
1st International Conference on Gilding materials and techniques in European Art
Call for papers
The International Conference on Gilding materials and techniques in European Art will be held at the University of Évora between 25th and 27th of May 2015. This event, included in the dissemination strategy of the GILT-Teller project (PTDC/EAT-EAT/116700/2010; www.gilt-teller.pt) funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, intends to bring together members of the art history, conservation, and applied sciences communities from Europe and Oversease countries testifying similar (or different) gilding traditions in cultural heritage artefacts.
As an interdisciplinary platform of dialogue and dissemination of scientific results, this conference will also welcome professionals, academic staff, early stage researchers and students from art history and technical art history, museology, archaeology, conservation/heritage sciences, architectural conservation and practical conservation field.
All interested participants may submit proposals for oral communications or posters.
The proposals should be in the form of a written abstract, in English (one page). These should be sent in doc or docx format, until 28th of February 2015, to gilt-enart2015@uevora.pt according to the template available on http://www.gilt-enart2015.uevora.pt/files/template.doc. The participants will be informed about the decision of the selection committee by the mid of March and short abstracts will be required by 1st of April 2015.
Accepted abstracts of papers and posters will be published in a Book of Abstracts, to be delivered during the conference and to be made available online after the conference.
Accepted oral presentations and posters will be published in Special Issues of the International Journal of Conservation Science, Estudos de Conservação e Restauro, and Conservar Pátrimonio, according specific instructions to be found on the websites of the journals.
