Proposal for a special session Title of the special session Optimization tools for sustainable logistics and production systems IEEE ICALT'2015 ( www.icalt.org/2015/special-sessions/otslps/) Organizers Jairo R. Montoya-Torres, Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia Elyn Lizeth Solano Charris, Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia, and Université de Technology de Troyes, France. Damien Trentesaux, IEEE, Université de Valenciennes et du Hainaut Cambrésis, France General description Sustainability in logistics and manufacturing has become a hot topic in current research agenda. The goal is to simultaneously take into account economic, social and environmental performance metrics within the decision making process, known as the Triple Bottom Line (profit, planet and people). The use of optimization methods and techniques has been increasingly attracting the interest of the Operational Research and Management Sciences community as well as related academic communities: it gives to researchers working on optimization techniques the opportunity to increase the impact of their findings by relating their works to the current world-wide challenges. This special session is interested in attracting high quality research papers addressing sustainability issues in production and logistics. The focus is on cutting-edge developments, concepts, practices and research opportunities in decision-making models for sustainability in production and logistics systems. Methodologies adapted in these studies could be built upon mathematical models, computational intelligence techniques or simulation studies, and build upon real world findings or in-depth case studies. Papers must build upon theory or must test theory with rigor, in order to extend existing theory in different contexts. Papers examining emerging practices and new concepts in developed and developing economies are also invited. Comprehensive, integrative reviews of this field are also welcomed. List of topics Suggested topics of interest include, but are not limited to: · Computational intelligence for sustainability · Multi-criteria decision making for sustainable operations and logistics · Optimization techniques for energy-efficient and resource-efficient production systems · Simulation-optimization technics for sustainable logistics and production · Multi-criteria optimization and decision support in sustainable logistics and production · Minimization of waste, scrap and pollution in production and logistics · Sustainability in logistics and supply chain management · Sustainability concepts in manufacturing and service systems · Green Operations Management and Green Manufacturing · Sustainable transportation · Green and sustainable vehicle routing · Natural and human-made disruptions in the supply chains and implications for sustainability Deadlines and submission instructions · Paper Submission deadline: 15 January 2015 · Paper Acceptance Notification date: 15 February 2015 · Final Paper Submission & Registration deadline: 15 March 2015 · Early Payment: 15 March 2015 Further details at: http://www.icalt.org/2015/submission/ --------------------- |
