Call for Papers Special issue on “Multiple Criteria Decision Making: Current Challenges and Future Trends” Guest Editors João Clímacoa, Carlos Romerob and Francisco Ruizc aINESC-C, University of Coimbra, Portugal bTechnical University of Madrid, Spain cUniversity of M´alaga, Spain The International Transactions in Operational Research (ITOR) will publish a special issue dedicated to “Multiple Criteria Decision Making: Current Challenges and Future Trends.” The turning point of Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) might be October 1972, when the first International Conference on MCDM was held at the University of South Carolina, in the United States. Since then, the MCDM paradigm has considerably evolved, becoming a very fertile branch of the OR/MS discipline. The aim of this special issue is to bring together recent challenges and developments of this paradigm. Without being exhaustive and in a tentative way, the topics of interest by alphabetical order include theoretical aspects, algorithmical developments, or applications in the following fields: _ AHP and ANP methods, _ Behavioural issues in MCDM, _ Compromise Programming, _ Data Envelopment Analysis and MCDM, _ Decision rules and MCDM (rough sets, verbal decision analysis, etc.), _ Evolutionary multiobjective optimization, _ Fuzzy aspects of MCDM, _ Goal Programming, _ Group Decision Making and MCDM, _ Historical roots of the MCDM paradigm, _ Interactive MCDM methods. _ Metaheuristic techniques and MCDM, _ Multiattribute utility approaches, _ Multiattribute value approaches, _ Multiobjective Programming, _ Outranking methods (ELECTRE, PROMETHEE, etc.), _ Philosophical foundations of MCDM, _ Preference modelling methods, and _ Reference point methods. Although this special issue has been promoted as a research activity of the Spanish Group in MCDM, which is part of the Spanish Society of Statistics and Operational Research (SEIO), this Call for Papers is also open to the entire community of academics and practitioners. Each paper will be peer-reviewed according to the editorial policy of ITOR (http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/118505725/home), published by the International Federation of Operational Research Societies – IFORS. Papers should be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. They should be prepared according to the instructions to authors that can be found in the journal homepage. Authors should upload their contributions using the submission site http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/itor, indicating in their cover letter that the paper is intended for this special issue. The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2016. Other inquiries should be sent directly to any of the Guest Editors in charge of this issue: João Clímaco (jclimaco@inescc.pt), Carlos Romero (carlos.romero@upm.es) and Francisco Ruiz (rua@uma.es) |
